Tasks & Responsibilities:
Day to day Kayak rental operations, customer service & sales
• Setting up Kayaks for rental customers
• Welcoming guests, validating their online bookings and payment processing for rental
• Process onsite booking payments via POS devices and QR codes for online payments
• Safety briefings and launching rental customers
Maintenance
• Ensuring the facility/area is in excellent condition
• Prepare, assemble, and disassemble equipment used
• Clean, maintain, and repair the rental fleet of kayaks and equipment
Understand, adhere to, and enforce Policies & Procedures, Emergency Procedures, and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff.
Maintain emergency preparedness and coordinate emergency response in emergency situations.
Ensuring all required reporting, tracking, and paperwork is completed in accordance with set timelines
Participate in regular team meetings with Owners/Managers
● Trained and certified in adult, infant, and child CPR and First Aid
● Must be a strong swimmer
● Required to take the online SAFEGUARD training with Aquatic Leadership ($45). Lite and Glow Water Rentals will reimburse staff for their safeguard training after the first 3 weeks of employment with proof of certification card.
● Preference will be given to those with lifeguard training
● Interest in sea kayaking and the outdoor industry
● A minimum of 3 – 5 years of customer-facing experience
● Enjoys working outside and being physically active
● Excellent customer service and in-person communication skills
● Excellent problem-solving skills and organizational skills
● Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage groups
● Ability to work independently and in a team environment
● Comfortable working on your feet, outside for a 7+ hour shift
● Some Heavy lifting required; must be able to lift over 50lbs, bending, kneeling, standing for extended periods of time
● Comfortable working outside in the Summer Sun to weather conditions such as heat, sun, rain, and humidity
