Position
We are recruiting for a Cutter to support us in our production department.
The Cutter works with the Production Management team to receive direction and is assigned work directly from the Production Manager or Production Coordinator.
• Operate various cutting equipment including spreader, air table, clicker press, beam press, strip cutter, round knife, straight knife and scissors to cut fabric pieces for assembly.
• Will work with a variety of fabrics including nylon, cotton, and leather.
• Learn and use the most efficient methods of cutting various products to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
• Work independently or as a member of a team as necessary to complete orders.
• Maintain a clean working area and remove work area garbage daily.
• Perform basic maintenance of cutting equipment including cleaning, oiling, and making minor adjustments to optimize performance.
• Work towards achieving the prescribed standard level of quantity output and quality in products.
• Meet or exceed daily productivity quotas, while maintaining ISO:9001 quality standards and health & safety standards.
• Assist in training others when requested.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by the manager.
Physical Environment
• General light manufacturing environment; repetitive tasks, prolonged periods of standing and walking. Lifting, bending, twisting, and carrying roll of fabric and bins of cut product.
• Experience as a fabric, fur or leather cutter is an asset; however, on-the-job training will be provided
• Experience in a similar role or in a manufacturing setting preferred
• Hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, detail oriented
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time; be able to work while bending, twisting, and experiencing repetitive movement throughout the day
• Ability to move, lift and carry large rolls of fabric/leather
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing
• Must be reliable with a good attendance and punctuality record
• Completion of high school diploma
• Permanent full time
• 7:00-3:30 daily Monday – Friday
• Salary: From $17.00 per hour + production bonus
• Casual dress code
