- Transporting freight locally to customers and off-site storage.
- Transporting freight across long distances and over border crossings.
- Planning routes and consulting traffic and road condition updates.
- Inspecting trucks and trailers before departure.
- Documenting loaded items and their original condition before departure.
- Supervising the loading, weight distribution, and securing of the freight.
- Obtaining a sign-off signature after unloading the freight.
- Checking the oil, fluid levels, and tire pressure, and performing minor repairs, when required.
- Logging the hours driven, distances covered, and expenses incurred.
- Updating management on delivery delays caused by unforeseen circumstances.
- Adhering to applicable transport rules and regulations.
- Help maintain a safe and orderly environment
Assist in line as needed throughout the shift
-High school diploma or GED.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL), including AZ and DZ vehicle class licensing.
- Accredited certification in commercial truck driving preferred.
- 5 years of experience as an AZ DZ driver, or similar.
- A clean driving record, as well as sound truck and trailer maintenance knowledge.
- Advanced proficiency in using road maps and GPS devices.
Ability to drive long, irregular hours, and to retain alertness throughout.
Exceptional planning and time management skills.
In-depth knowledge of applicable road transport regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Previous forklift or heavy equipment experience an asset
