Job Overview:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Electrician is a full-time position, responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting, and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will be required to maintain equipment to the required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You work as part of a team but will routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of workmanship and safety while performing your duties.
Responsibilities:
Adhering to all workplace safety policies, LOTO procedures, compliances, and regulations
Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
Troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair industrial, electrical, and electronic control systems and other related devices
Ensuring safety devices are functioning properly after completing repairs modifications or installations
Assist in the inspection, testing, adjusting, and evaluation of new systems and ensure they conform to company and industry standards
Execute preventative maintenance activities including troubleshooting and repairs to all production equipment and systems in a timely manner
Utilize the computerized maintenance management system for processing work orders, PMs and updating the equipment databases
Perform other related duties as assigned
Support local and corporate objectives including health & safety, productivity, continuous improvement, innovation, quality, waste, and 5S
Post-secondary education in an electrical, electronic, or instrumentation program with 309A or 442A Electrical Certification
Minimum 3 years of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of CNC equipment is an asset
Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLCs, Siemens/Moore DCS, AC, and DC drive systems
Ability to operate specialized vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, man lifts, etc.
Physically fit and able to lift 33lbs, negotiate inclines, stairs, ladders, and scaffolding. Able to perform physically demanding activities while in both indoor and outdoor environments. The job requires bending, kneeling, crawling, standing, working from heights, and in confined spaces for extended periods of time.
Willing to work extended hours when required including nights, weekends, on-call, and holidays
Willingness to cross-train in another trade
Must enroll in the Canadian Controlled Goods Program
