What Will You Do?
- Responsible to move trailers safely in and out of dock and shops.
- Organize trailer line-ups.
- Check oil in reefer units plus other designated mechanical checks on trucks and trailers.
- Communicate with dock personnel, dispatch drivers and shop via two-way radio in a professional manner.
- Report mechanical defects on trucks and trailers immediately to Lead Hand or supervisor of shift.
- Perform reefer checks when required. Complete appropriate report and pass onto shop.
- Pick-up debris in yard. Empty garbage containers at fuel island and at building entrance.
- Report all accidents or injuries immediately to supervisor.
- Ensure that all the paperwork required from your shift is completed and turned in for HACCP purposes (Washes)
- Cleaning the exteriors of Tractors, Straight Trucks, and Trailers. Cleaning and disinfecting and de-odorizing the interiors of Trailers and the Straight Truck boxes.
- All other duties as required.
Who Are We Looking For?
- AZ License is required.
- Operation of appropriate power units safely and accurately.
- Complete understanding of company health & safety policies within yard area. Must always abide by yard and security policies.
- Must have excellent communication skills with dock staff, dispatch, supervisory, part-time staff etc.
- Attention to detail with accurate record keeping, i.e., moving equipment, any required fuelling, washing etc.
- Positive attitude, willingness to work as part of a team
- Must be able to tolerate all types of weather and physical demands of position
