Financial Services Administrators provide financial assistance and budget resources support to all military activities.
The primary duties of a Financial Services Administrator are to provide:
Financial administration and services
General office bookkeeping
Accounts payable and accounts receivable support
Budget management services
Reserve Financial Services Administrators must complete two courses as part of their initial training:
Basic Military Qualification: This is the first course completed by all members of the Canadian Armed Forces, it teaches all of the basic skills required for CAF service (Dress, Drill, Discipline and Deportment, First Aid and CPR, navigation with a map and compass, C7 Service Rifle, etc). The Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment offers this course as a weekend course (2-3 weekends a month from October - March) or a full time course over the summer months (4.5 weeks).
Financial Services Administrator Trades Training: Financial Services Administrator attends the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre in Borden, Ontario. Training takes approximately 12 weeks and includes:
Briefing on financial authority, regulations and financial structure
Processing vendor invoices, payables and receivables
Initiating, processing and finalizing claims
Administering support to operations
Assisting members with credit card and reconciliation
Reconciling departmental travel expenditures
Providing support to personnel management
Maintaining budgets and business plans
To be eligible to apply you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Age: Between the ages of 16 and 56 (under the age of 18 requires parental consent)
Citizenship: Canadian Citizen
Education: Minimum of a grade ten education
Eligible applicants will complete a Aptitude test, Fitness test, Medical, Interview and Background check to determine if they will be hired. All of this testing is completed in 2 appointments and can be completed at our Belleville, Cobourg or Peterborough armouries.
This is a Army Reserve position that is part time (evenings and weekends) over the school year with the option for full time over the summer months (01 May to 31 August).
As a CAF Reserve position the amount a member makes in a year is directly tied to the amount that member works.
This is a primarily part time position with some short term options for full time employment. We offer Full Times Summer Employment from 01 May to 31 August (or any lesser date range within those dates) for the first 4 years of a members career.
Up to $2000 towards Post Secondary Education per year with a career maximum of $8000 - some conditions apply.
Member dental coverage - does not cover family members.
