Youth Habilitation Quinte Inc. (Youthab) requires a Mental Health Addictions Therapist to provide in-person services at our Belleville office in a permanent role for up to 35 hours per week, commencing as soon as possible. Who We Are

Youthab is a community based non-profit organization established in 1984 with services designed around 3 pillars – housing, mental health, and employment. We support, connect, and empower people to obtain and maintain safe and affordable housing, good mental health, and employment facilitating their transition to independence. Our programs operate under the names of Youthab, Career Edge, and Next Step Housing Connection and are free and confidential.

Youthab’s mental health program offers a spectrum of services to young adults, primarily 16 to 24 years of age, who have difficulties with mental health, substance use, family, housing, social wellbeing, education, employment, and/or life skills. Our counselling and therapy program offers psychoeducation and psychotherapy utilizing a client-centered approach to create individualized treatment plans to bring about positive change in thinking, feeling, behaving and social functioning by developing new and healthier coping skills and strategies.

Who You Are

As a Mental Health Addictions Therapist, you are part of the mental health team and your passion for providing counselling and therapy to youth ages 16-24 empowers them to improve their mental health and wellbeing. You have strong clinical skills to assess clients’ mental health needs, identify areas of concern, develop and implement personalized treatment plans, and provide individual, family, or group therapy sessions. With a Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work, professional registration as a psychotherapist or social worker, and preferably four years of related experience, you bring both expertise and professionalism to your work through the use of evidenced based therapies to help clients manage or overcome their mental health and substance use concerns. You have excellent interpersonal skills allowing you to develop effective working relationships with clients and colleagues and strong organizational skills ensuring that case notes are entered accurately and files are kept organized.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Assess clients to determine mental health and/or substance use needs and develop and implement case plans based on this assessment, and provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions.

·         Collaborate and coordinate with CMHA-HPE’s Addictions Counsellor.

Qualifications:

·         A Master’s degree in Psychology or Social Work

·         Professional registration as a psychotherapist or social worker

·         Four years’ related experience is preferred

·         A valid driver’s licence is required
