Temporary Full-Time Cook 10am-6pm (Opportunity for Permanent Employment)

Westgate Lodge is currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Cook, with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment. With our exciting redevelopment underway, we will soon be welcoming up to 160 residents, making this a great time to join our growing team.

Crown Ridge Health Care Services Inc. operates Westgate Lodge Long-Term Care Home in Belleville, Ontario, which is currently home to 64 long-term care residents and growing.

Temporary Full-Time Cook (Opportunity for Permanent Employment)

What will you be doing

  • Participates with other members of the Nutritional Care Team in meeting the nutritional needs of all residents in the home
  • Preparation of menu and snack items in compliance with the Ministry of Health requirements
  • Follow food safety practices, including personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, proper storage, and cleaning procedures
  • Regularly monitor and document food safety practices to ensure compliance
  • Plating meals and meal delivery to the residents
  • Clearing and cleaning dishes, general cleaning duties
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff, residents, families, and public

  • Vulnerable sector check that is less than 6 months old at the time of hire
  • TB test steps 1 and 2 proof and 1 step in last 6 months until two step obtained in last year.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Experience in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality cooking
  • Red Seal Chef, Culinary Management or equivalent as an asset but not a requirement
  • Current Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to obtain
