The Green Root Health and Natural Food Store is looking for a reliable, customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join their team. As a small, family-owned business, we value team members who are proactive, dependable, and able to work independently while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and provide friendly customer service
  • Help customers select products and answer questions relating to their specific health food needs
  • Operate POS system and handle transactions accurately
  • Stock shelves, organize displays, and maintain store cleanliness
  • Support inventory, restocking, and receiving shipments
  • Promote products and assist with upselling
  • Handle customer concerns professionally
  • Assist with opening/closing duties and daily operations

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience preferred
  • Knowledge of natural products and supplements
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Professional, reliable, and punctual
  • Comfortable handling difficult customer situations
  • Flexible availability (including weekends and emergency shift coverage)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks
  • Food Handler Certificate is an asset or willingness to obtain one
  • Must have reliable transportation (City transit not available)

Nice to Have

  • Interest in health, wellness, and natural products
  • Experience with POS systems and inventory
