We are hiring a Packaging Associate at our Sofina plant in Belleville, ON.

What do we offer:

  • Rate: $18.50
  • Shift: Starts at 5:30am

  • 3 months contract

Position Summary

Reporting to Packaging Supervisor, the Packaging Associate is responsible for operating the vacuum machines, Fava cutter, box erector and metal detector and may be asked to work in other areas as required for production.

Responsibilities

  • Verify lot # and WIP codes on hangers/carts before processing
  • Visually inspect product before and after packing to ensure the product and the packaging meets requirements
  • Bag product and vacuum seal
  • Label product ensuring proper packaging material and best before date
  • Weigh product and apply sticker
  • Box and palletize the product
  • Weighs and records weights of carts and rework
  • Expedites product and materials to different areas
  • Cut ends from product
  • Ensure product successfully goes through metal detector
  • Perform other tasks as required by the supervisor and/or Lead Hand

Requirements

  • Good English communication skills (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math skills for weighing and measuring products.
  • Previous experience in food production or processing is a plus, particularly in injection or marination processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
