Join Our Team as Executive Director / CEO of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce
For more than 75 years, the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce has been the unified voice of local business—championing growth, advocating for our members, and strengthening the economic vitality of our community. We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and community‑minded leader to serve as our next Executive Director / CEO.
This is a high‑impact role at the heart of the Quinte West business community. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director leads Chamber operations, drives strategic initiatives, cultivates partnerships, and ensures our members receive exceptional value and support.
About the Role
As the senior leader of the Chamber, you will oversee all programs, services, staff, and volunteers. You will be responsible for implementing the Board’s strategic priorities, fostering strong relationships with members, and representing the Chamber with professionalism and integrity at all levels of government, business, and community engagement.
You will guide the Chamber’s program of work, deliver high‑quality events, support advocacy efforts, manage all financial and operational functions, and ensure our organization continues to thrive as a respected voice for business in Quinte West.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Board Leadership
- Serve as advisor and secretary to the Board of Directors; prepare reports, minutes, and strategic updates.
- Integrate the Chamber’s strategic plan into annual work plans and track progress toward key goals.
- Maintain strong governance practices and support all Chamber committees.
Community, Policy & Program Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of the Chamber’s annual program of work.
- Build strong relationships with business leaders, government officials, and partner organizations.
- Support policy development and advocacy through the Government Affairs Committee.
- Represent the Chamber externally at regional, provincial, and national levels.
Organizational & Staff Leadership
- Recruit, train, and mentor Chamber staff; conduct annual evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, and mission‑driven workplace culture.
- Ensure efficient, effective operations across all departments.
Financial Oversight
- Prepare budgets in partnership with the Treasurer and Finance Committee.
- Manage expenditures, bookkeeping, monthly reporting, and audit support.
- Ensure financial sustainability through responsible oversight and revenue development.
Membership Engagement
- Lead membership growth and retention efforts.
- Maintain strong member relationships and ensure high‑value service delivery.
- Oversee member communications, data management, and reporting.
Events & Community Presence
- Oversee the planning and execution of Chamber events, ensuring exceptional quality and financial success.
- Manage externally contracted events with professionalism and care.
- Represent the Chamber at public events, meetings, and media opportunities.
Communications & Public Relations
- Champion the Chamber’s image and voice within the community.
- Oversee newsletters, publications, media releases, and marketing materials.
- Strengthen community connections and monitor issues affecting local businesses.
What You Bring (Skill Set)

- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities with excellent attention to detail
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate staff and volunteers
- Experience in fundraising, event management, marketing, and sales
- Bookkeeping/accounting skills and strong proficiency with digital tools
- Knowledge of Quinte West and surrounding areas
- A genuine passion for community and economic development
- Confidence in public speaking and representing the Chamber publicly
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in business, communications, marketing, economic development, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Minimum of 3 years management experience or 5 years administrative experience
- Experience working with business associations, non‑profits, or economic development organizations is a strong asset
