Quinte Custom Foods

The Finance Associate is responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness in vendor payments, posting customer payments, preparing documents for government program submission and account/customer reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Prepare and execute weekly payment runs (EFT/ACH).
Maintain vendor records and respond to inquiries.
Record and apply customer payments accurately. Investigate short payments.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due customer accounts.
Support government programs (IREP, CDC, Excise, duty drawback, HST)/ audits and provide required documentation.
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
Assist with journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as needed.
Collaborate with team members to improve processes and internal controls.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
2–5 years of experience in accounting.
Proficiency with ERP accounting software (e.g., Business Central).
Strong Excel and data entry skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety requirements within the scope of the position.
