PEFAC is seeking passionate and dedicated Swim Instructors to join our team! As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of various ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe, engaging, and fun environment. This is a part-time position with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach swim lessons to individuals of varying ages and abilities, following the PEFAC curriculum
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during lessons
  • Provide positive reinforcement and feedback to students
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress and provide feedback to parents or guardians
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of the pool and surrounding areas
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors and aquatics staff to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

  • Current Swim Instructor Certification (e.g. Lifesaving Society, or equivalent)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
  • Clean Criminal Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Previous experience in teaching swimming or working with children is an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patient, friendly, and approachable attitude
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Must have transportation – public transit is not available
