The Prince Edward Fitness and Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) is seeking a responsible, dedicated, and professional Lifeguard to join our aquatics team. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of all swimmers and maintaining the pool area in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor pool activities to ensure the safety of all guests
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations in a courteous and professional manner
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid and CPR when necessary
  • Conduct regular pool inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety
  • Assist in maintaining and cleaning pool equipment and facilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to all members and event participants

Qualifications:

  • Current Lifeguard Certification (e.g., National Lifeguard Service (NLS) or equivalent)
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification (must be current)
  • Previous lifeguard experience is an asset, but not required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Must have transportation – public transit is not available
