PEFAC is seeking a motivated and experienced Aquatics Coordinator to lead and manage our aquatics team. This leadership role will involve overseeing the scheduling, planning, and execution of all aquatics programs, as well as providing support to our lifeguards and swim instructors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and support the aquatics team, including lifeguards, swim instructors, and other aquatics staff
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of aquatics programs (swim lessons, recreational swims, etc.)
  • Create and manage schedules for the aquatics staff to ensure proper coverage and smooth operation of all programs
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including regular pool inspections and emergency response procedures
  • Monitor program participation and customer satisfaction to make improvements and adjustments as needed
  • Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and professional development for the aquatics team
  • Maintain records of staff certifications, participant progress, and program feedback
  • Manage and maintain aquatics equipment and ensure the cleanliness and safety of the pool and surrounding areas
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and senior management to achieve organizational goals
  • Handle administrative tasks such as program registration, budget tracking, and staff communication

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Current Lifeguard Certification (National Lifeguard Service (NLS) or equivalent)
  • Current Swim Instructor Certification (e.g. Lifesaving Society, or equivalent)
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
  • Clean Criminal Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in program development and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and support a team of diverse individuals
  • Ability to remain calm and respond effectively in emergency situations
  • Knowledge of pool maintenance and safety standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must have transportation – public transit is not available
