Furball’s Choice is a multi-award-winning Pet Care and Natural Pet Food Company in Belleville, Ontario. We have been providing our services in Belleville and surrounding areas since 2011.
Our ideal candidate will be a willing and efficient learner who is detail-oriented and organized with the information provided to them. There is a lot of information and training that will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the tools necessary to succeed with us. Our business develops strong, trusting relationships with our clients who depend on us to provide them with outstanding service and advice for their furry family members.
We offer private in-home services that we provide to our clients’ animals in their own homes. Candidates for this job will need to have a valid G driver’s license and their own vehicle that they can use to travel to each client throughout their shift.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Be a minimum of 18 years old.
- Have a valid full G driver’s license.
- Have your own reliable vehicle that you can use for work.

- Reside within 15 km of Belleville.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

- Candidate must be naturally patient and compassionate, must be understanding and have a friendly and personable demeanour.
- Educational background in animal behaviour, biology, psychology and/or professional/volunteer experience working in kennels, dog walking, dog daycare, animal care, dog training, etc. is essential
- Have knowledge and understanding of animal behaviour and body language cues (anxious, fearful, happy, comfortable, nervous).
- Comfortable working with all types of pets, including but not limited to: dogs, cats, birds, small pocket pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs and rabbits, fish, lizards, goats, horses, donkeys, chickens and more.
- Open to learning about raw pet food and able to educate clients about pet care, animal health and wellness and basic nutrition.
- Comfortable working with all breeds and sizes of dogs and walking multiple dogs on leash. You will receive training on multi-dog handling skills and safety procedures.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to walk 10 to 15km a day and lift 40lbs repetitively. We will provide on the job training.
- Strong reliability and dedication to the job – we have an established reputation in the community for our reliability and professional service to the animals in our care and we are looking to hire people who take this seriously.
- This is not intended to be a hobby or a “side gig” for extra cash.
We build honest, long-lasting relationships with our clients and their pets, and we want to hire individuals who will support our vision as a dedicated small business, and are looking for long-term work. We are currently looking to fill up to two positions:
1. Full-time hours: 30 – 40 hours per week
2. Part-time hours: 20 – 30 hours per week
