Finkle Electric

Finkle Electric is currently seeking a motivated and customer-focused Part-Time (20 hours) Retail Sales Clerk to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with customers, has an interest in retail and lighting products, and brings strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with social media is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assist with unloading, opening, unpacking, and assembling merchandise (e.g., light fixtures, fans, home furnishings) up to 30 lbs
  • Compare merchandise invoices with items received to ensure shipment accuracy
  • Maintain clean and organized display areas, shelves, and sales floor (including dusting and vacuuming)
  • Assist in moving and arranging lighting and accessory displays to showcase new products
  • Learn to answer customer inquiries related to lighting and electrical products and provide product recommendations
  • Provide excellent customer service, including taking orders and assisting with product selection
  • Answer phone calls and take messages as required
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process transactions, and handle cash accurately
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Use basic computer programs (Gmail, Excel, Word) for quotes, research, scanning, and printing
  • Support basic social media marketing efforts (e.g., promoting products, sharing updates, assisting with online presence)
  • Communicate with suppliers for stock information, delivery updates, and return authorizations

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong customer service skills and a friendly, approachable attitude
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Interest in retail, lighting, or home furnishings is an asset
  • Previous experience in retail or social media marketing is considered an asset

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs when required
  • Ability to stand for extended periods in an active retail environment
  • Must be available on Saturdays
