Wage: To be negotiated based on experience
Employment Status: part-time before summer camp starts and then position turns to full time hours once summer camp weeks commence.

Position Summary:

The Camp Supervisor role is to manage campers, counselors, and camp staff. Responsible, patient, dependable, mature, independent, and able to make decisions and act with integrity are skills that are required for this position. You should be enthusiastic and display a positive attitude as a role model for both campers and other counselors. If a camper or counselor is having trouble adjusting to camp life, the camp supervisor may have to step in and help.
Monitoring staff morale is important as well and must be reported back to Camp director or owner.

You will be working closely with owner and Camp Director throughout the entire summer

Camp Supervisor is responsible for the overall well-being of the campers attending GNBSC.
The role includes assuring that each camper’s physical and emotional needs are met and protected and that there is nothing preventing the child from participating fully in all that camp has to offer. They are in charge of setting up certain activities for the campers. Working alongside the counselor to ensure they have all the supplies needed for the activity. You will be responsible to create camp day itinerary and schedule for the campers and what activities should be done and an appropriate schedule and timeline for the days. Responsible for the before and after care activities for the campers.

Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
● Ability to communicate and work with a variety of age and skill level groups and provide necessary instruction to staff and campers in a camp setting
● Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond appropriately to environmental and other hazards related to the activity or situation
● Cognitive ability to plan and conduct activities and supervise staff and campers
● The strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of campers in all assigned areas while on trips and on duty at the camp
● Ability to respect and cooperate with fellow staff and administration
● Ability to participate in a strenuous camp program with campers, while maintaining a high level of energy and enthusiasm
● Work with the Camp Manager and Camp Director to facilitate daily scheduling and programming for campers and staff, ensuring that programming offers a mixture of activities.

● Continually evaluate program and delivery to ensure consistency with the mission and goals of G.N.B.D.C.
● Respond to and assist counselors with camper behaviors
● Recognize, present, and correct safety hazards; guard the health and safety of all campers and staff at all times.
● Act as an integral part of the camp leadership team. Be proactive with problem-solving staff issues.
● Support in management and leadership of spring, summer, fall, and winter programs under the direction of the Camp Director and owner
● Engage in administrative tasks of all forms to support Diamond Fitness Mixed Martial Arts
● Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. The Camp Supervisor is a versatile position and requires a high level of adaptability and initiative
● Ability to take the role of a camp counselor if required

Non-Essential Functions:
● Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
● Must be a minimum of 18 years old by the start date of Summer Camp
● Experience/interest in working with children. Previous camp experience or teaching experience is preferred.
● Sincere interest in the natural and environmental sciences, outdoor skills, and/or education.
● Ability to model responsible behavior to campers.
● Comfort with performance and/or public speaking, a flair for public presentation.
● Ability to inspire a passion for science and nature in campers.
● First aid/CPR
● Ability to function comfortably outdoors in a variety of weather conditions (cold, rain, etc.).
● Creative individual with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● The candidate should enjoy working in a busy camp community, be flexible, and highly dependable.
● Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
● Ability to maintain safety and discipline in a fun and positive way.
● Able to work in a highly sensory and stimulating work environment, constantly interacting with guests, campers, volunteers, and other staff.
● Be in good physical condition to meet the physical demands of the position. Ability to move program equipment/supplies up to 40lbs.
● Complete the camp’s health form and waiver by the start of camp.

● Excellent and professional oral and written communication skills
● Ability to plan, originate, schedule, organize and carry out daily and special programs under the direction of the Camp Director
● Desire and ability to work with children and staff in a rustic, fast-paced outdoor/ indoor camp setting
● Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control
● Ability to work with a minimum amount of supervision
