Courtyard Cafe

We are seeking an experienced Café Manager to oversee daily operations.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service and a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

As the Café Manager, you will lead a small team of staff, ensuring that all aspects of café operations run smoothly while maintaining high standards of food safety, in addition to preparing occasional catering orders for customers utilising the QSWC for business meetings, parties, and other events.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the café, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and supply ordering.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all areas of the café.
  • Oversee customer service interactions, ensuring that every guest receives prompt and courteous service.
  • Handle cash management and operate the POS system efficiently.
  • Collaborate with cafe owner to create catering menus as well as seasonal changes to the café menu.
  • Hire and train new employees on café procedures, food preparation techniques, and customer service standards.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen management or food service, with an understanding of fast casual dining operations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
  • Food Handlers certificate is an asset. If not already in possession, must be willing to obtain with one month of employment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends occasionally and at our busiest parts of the season.
