County Farm Centre Picton is currently seeking a dedicated Agronomy Operator to join us and contribute to our long-standing legacy of excellence across the Quinte Region.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Possess a High school diploma, college diploma, or equivalent, or a combination of experience and training to provide the required knowledge and skills.
  2. Must have a valid Driver’s license and possess a driving abstract that represents a history of safe operation, as well as the ability to maintain insurability.
  3. A valid A/Z or DZ license would be a strong asset.
  4. Any prior experience with Custom Application Equipment would be a strong asset.
  5. Will be required to work extended hours, particularly during peak seasons.
  6. Proven ability to work independently, and in a team-oriented environment, and achieve results through others.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Working out of the Picton Branch, this position involves operating custom application equipment (Vector & sprayers) during the spring planting season, and supporting the branch shop or other CFC departments throughout the remainder of the year. Daily responsibilities may include:

Field Application:
Apply fertilizer to fields and growing crops following recommended rates, procedures, and safety standards. Maintain accurate application records in accordance with all regulations. Over time, you may also learn to safely apply crop protection products.

Blending & Inventory Support:
Blend fertilizer, weigh tanks, assist with inventory pre‑listing and physical counts as needed. Load and unload containers, pallets, materials, and products arriving for delivery.

Equipment Maintenance:
Perform regular, preventative, and seasonal maintenance on custom application equipment and vehicles. Ensure equipment is kept clean and presents a professional appearance.

Transportation & Documentation:
Transport custom-blended fertilizers, chemicals, seed, and various equipment, ensuring all documentation—including bills of lading and shipping tickets—is accurate and completed on schedule.

Branch Maintenance:
Perform general branch maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and yard clean-up.

Team Collaboration:
Work collaboratively as part of the CFC team to support company objectives, enhance customer service levels, and promote strong employee and inter‑branch relationships.

Other Duties:
Provide additional support to other CFC departments as required.
