The City of Quinte West invites applications for the following seasonal position:
Seasonal Parks Labourer, Public Works and Environmental Services
Reporting to the Supervisor of Parks and Open Space the Parks Labourer will perform maintenance and other operational duties as required for the safe operation of community parks and sports fields. The duties will include, but not be limited to, grass cutting, garbage/recycling collection, tent set-up, special event assistance, equipment operations, repairs and maintenance, landscaping, plant and lawn care, sports field maintenance.
Education/Specialized Training/Skills:
The position will require:
A minimum of a Grade 12 education or equivalent.
A Class G driver’s licence and a clean driver’s abstract.
Knowledge of special events operations.
Ability to operate equipment such as a truck, push mower, weed whipper, etc.
Effective communication skills.
Nice to have; Although not required, the following would be considered a preferred asset to the position.
Chainsaw Certification
WHMIS training
Basic First Aid/CPR
Propane Training
Work Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in parks maintenance is required. Demonstrated interpersonal and team skills are necessary.
Remuneration: 2025 C.U.P.E. Salary Grid Band 4 – $25.57/hr
