Position Summary:
The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, and functionality of multiple residential program sites. This role ensures that all facilities are operating efficiently and in compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards. The Supervisor coordinates with vendors, schedules repairs, conducts regular inspections, and manages preventative maintenance plans. In addition to overseeing facilities operations, this position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records related to facility expenses and working closely with vendors to ensure cost-effective service delivery. Strong organizational skills and the ability to respond quickly to facility-related issues across multiple locations are essential for success in this role, while aligning with CMHA HPE’s mission and values.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Facility Management, Public Safety, Business, or a related field.
- First Aid, CPR, and Crisis Intervention certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Additional health and safety certifications are considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations, health and safety management, or a related field.
- Experience managing safety programs and conducting risk assessments.
- Experience working in residential programs.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
- Experience working in a not-for-profit or community-based setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of Ontario health and safety regulations and emergency preparedness protocols.
- Strong understanding of risk management, quality assurance, and compliance standards.
- Ability to conduct safety audits and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Ability to foster a culture of accountability, safety, and efficiency among staff.
- Experience in training and mentoring staff in safety procedures and operational best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally with internal teams, external partners, and community stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint, and Visio.
- Ability to use digital tools for tracking safety compliance and facility operations.
- Knowledge of security and surveillance systems is an asset.
- Must be reasonably available to respond to emergency situations outside of standard business hours.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, regular access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of adequate vehicle insurance for travel between agency sites and community meetings.
- Satisfactory criminal reference and vulnerable sector check required prior to hire.
