Role:

The Sanitation Manager will be responsible for effectively supervising the Sanitation team members and will be responsible for ensuring the team works together to meet or exceed deviation standards while following HACCP, health and safety policies and procedures. You will deliver results for the Sanitation department in accordance with approved sanitation plans/schedules to meet business objectives.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

o Manage, motivate and provide direct leadership to the sanitation team

o Oversee the dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and sanitization of equipment, surfaces, utensils and working ‘hands on’ to motivate and provide support as required

o Provide effective leadership and direction to the sanitation team (coaching, cross-training, addressing and resolving HR related issues and concerns)

o Ensures compliance with all Health and Safety, GMP’s and HACCP, and advises applicable departments with issues/concerns

o Review post-op inspections daily to report non-compliance and take corrective actions to assure compliance with all quality assurance requirements

o Daily meetings before shift start to review schedule, Sanitation performance issues, staffing changes and providing feedback to any sanitation unit issues or opportunities for development

o Establish a daily routine of communication and interaction with Team Members; conduct meetings, share performance issues, ask for feedback on solutions, do a daily walk around, and build relationships

o Accountable for line efficiencies, manpower utilization, downtime and resolving performance issues

o Ability to clean and inspect lines as required

What You’ll Bring (Qualifications):

o Post Secondary Education

o Clean Criminal Record

o Knowledge and experience with Sanitation, as it relates to Food Safety

o 3-5 years of experience in sanitation roles within manufacturing environments is an asset

o Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), WHMIS and Health and Safety concepts is recommended

o Strong leadership, communication, analytical and interpersonal skills required

o Aptitude for continuous learning

o Must be flexible to work varying shifts

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
