About the Role:

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager (RGM), the hourly Shift Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant during scheduled shifts. They support both the RGM and Manager in Training (MIT) by directly assisting with the oversight of a team of Team Members while on shift, driving strong shift execution, operational performance, and key results in sales, profitability, and team effectiveness.

The Shift Manager leads their shifts by example, upholds standards in food quality and cleanliness, and helps create a positive and supportive work environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensure that food charts, recipes, and preparation procedures are followed.
  • Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Uphold all sanitary procedures and ensure the restaurant interior and exterior meet company cleanliness standards.
  • Complete opening and closing procedures during assigned shifts.
  • Monitor team performance and adjust positions to maintain speed, quality, and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle inventory tasks such as counting and receiving supplies; report discrepancies promptly and ensure stocks are maintained at appropriate levels.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, deposits, and shift financial records, including waste, refunds, and petty cash reports.
  • Resolve guest concerns politely, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Assign tasks, provide feedback, and motivate team members during the shift to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Support training of crew members on food safety, procedures, and daily routines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and audit-ready environment at all times and ensure health and safety directives are known and respected.
  • Step into crew roles when needed to keep operations running smoothly and assist during employee breaks.
  • Support execution of promotions and limited-time offers (LTOs) and ensure compliance with brand standards.
  • Lead by example, modeling a positive attitude, clear communication, and delivering a great guest experience.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience in a quick service restaurant (QSR) environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with customers and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills and proficiency in cash handling.
  • Physical ability to bend, twist, and stand for extended periods to perform job functions.
  • Experience in customer service and resolving guest concerns.
  • Ability to assist with shift operations, ensure adherence to company standards, and assist with inventory management.
  • Flexible availability to work: days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily an indoor environment with occasional outdoor tasks.
  • Occasionally lift, move, carry, and stack cartons up to 50 pounds from various heights.
  • Experience frequent exposure to fluctuating temperatures in areas such as coolers, freezers, and cooking sections.
  • Involves standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift without frequent rest periods.
  • Frequent movements such as bending, wiping, sweeping, mopping, wrapping, and squeezing.
  • Regularly reaching overhead, forward, and underneath shelves, counters, tables, and kitchen equipment.
  • Frequent squatting or stooping to access items on low shelves or the floor.
  • Occasional use of stools or ladders to reach items stored on higher shelves.
  • Plays a vital role in delivering excellent customer service and preparing our signature subs.
