The Opportunity

The Belleville Senators are seeking an energetic, detail-oriented intern to join our Marketing team as a Marketing Intern. This is an excellent opportunity to join an AHL team at an internship level position which will allow the candidate to become fully engaged in the business of a professional sports team.

We are looking for an enthusiastic marketing intern to join our marketing department and provide creative ideas to help achieve our goals. You will have administrative duties in developing and implementing marketing strategies.  As a marketing intern, you will collaborate with our marketing and advertising team in all stages of marketing campaigns. Your insightful contribution will help develop, expand and maintain our marketing channels.

Term: This is a full-time internship placement from September 2026 – December 2026 (4 months)

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data from marketing campaigns
  • Perform market analysis and research on competition
  • Support the marketing team in daily administrative tasks
  • Assist in marketing and advertising promotional activities (e.g. social media, direct mail and web)
  • Prepare promotional presentations
  • Help distribute marketing materials
  • Manage and update company database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
  • Help organize marketing events

Qualifications (what we look for)

  • Must be currently enrolled in a University Degree or College Diploma program requiring completion of an internship for credit
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Creative ability and artistic talent as demonstrated by work portfolio
  • Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or motion graphics is an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Have own transportation and wireless laptop computer
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Flexible work hours required (Ability to work evenings, weekends and game nights as required)

Who We Are 

The Belleville Senators are a professional ice hockey team based in Belleville, Ontario, competing in the American Hockey League (AHL). They are the top affiliate of the NHL’s Ottawa Senators and were established in 2017 after the Binghamton Senators relocated to Belleville. The team plays its home games at CAA Arena and serves as a key development ground for Ottawa’s future NHL talent.

What We Offer

This internship offers an annual salary of $37,000, pro-rated for the duration of the term, along with hands-on, real-world experience in the sports industry. Interns receive two weeks of vacation accrued monthly and pro-rated to the length of the internship, as well as paid sick leave. Additional benefits include complimentary parking at the CAA Arena, access to tickets for select events, and a free corporate GoodLife Fitness membership. The organization also has an active social committee that hosts multiple events throughout the year, and interns are welcome to attend these social engagements.
