BCS Automation is seeking a skilled, driven Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our team in Belleville, Ontario—proudly Canadian-owned and operated for over 35 years. Your Role:

  • Plan and implement improvements to machinery, workshop layout, production systems, and methods of work
  • Maintain and repair electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Set up and operate drill presses, grinders, welders, mills, lathes, and other metal working tools and equipment
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining inventory control, records, and documentation systems aligned with organizational and industry standards
  • Perform final system assembly, testing, and occasional installation at customer sites
  • Support and participate in quality control inspections, visual checks, and production reporting procedures
  • Supervise and train team members in new equipment, processes, and production techniques when required
  • Achieve project build objectives, including:
    • Assembling, fabricating, wiring, and testing control equipment
    • Installing motor starters, contactors, circuit breakers, and control devices in custom switchboards and MCCs
    • Wiring PLCs and control panels
    • Assembling wiring harnesses
    • Performing precision crimping and electrical terminations

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 diploma required
  • Post-secondary education in Electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related technical field is considered an asset
  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in a structured manufacturing or panel shop environment.
  • Proven experience applying lean manufacturing principles, including workflow optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proficient in the safe and accurate use of panel shop hand and power tools
  • Strong experience assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and/or mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Capable of detailing and laying out builds based on design packages and engineering documentation
  • Experience working within ISO quality systems and applying quality control standards
  • Leadership experience is an asset, including mentoring team members and supporting production coordination
  • Experience with marine control systems, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office is considered an asset
  • Adaptable and responsive to changing production priorities
  • Experience with 3D modelling considered an asset

Licenses:

  • Valid driver’s license (G2 or G)
  • Valid passport for international travel
