Food Services Cook

Albert College

Albert College is seeking a Food Services Cook to support the operation of the food service program for the Senior School, Junior School, and Early Primary Learning Centre (EPLC). This position plays an important role in preparing high-quality meals and snacks while ensuring students and staff receive excellent food service in a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment. Working in collaboration with the Food Services Manager, the Food Services Cook contributes to daily kitchen operations, food preparation, baking, special events, and the overall success of the school’s food service program.

Position Summary
The Food Services Cook works in collaboration with the Food Services Manager to deliver a high-quality food service program for the Senior School, Junior School, and Early Primary Learning Centre (EPLC). This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day kitchen operations, preparing meals and snacks, and assisting with special events and functions while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food for students, staff, and special events.
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations in the Senior School kitchen.
  • Prepare daily snacks for students in the Junior School and EPLC.
  • Assist with catering and special functions, including occasional evening events.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented according to established standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with the Food Services Manager and other team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of cooking experience.
  • Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong baking skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

The following qualifications are considered assets:

  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • Valid ServSafe Certification or Serve Smart Certification
  • First Aid
