Job Overview

We are seeking a licensed Optician who is friendly, professional, enjoys helping patients find their perfect look, and is committed to delivering exceptional service. Your expertise in medical terminology and optical experience will be crucial in delivering accurate fittings and recommendations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their prescription, style, and lifestyle.
  • Perform fittings, adjustments, and repairs of eyeglasses with precision and care.
  • Provide expertise on lens technology, coatings, and frame materials.
  • Verify prescriptions and ensure lenses meet required specifications.
  • Educate patients on eyewear care and contact lens use.
  • Maintain accurate patient and sales records.
  • Collaborate with the optometrist and optical team to deliver seamless patient care.
  • Maintain inventory of optical products and ensure the laboratory is well-stocked with necessary materials.
  • Support the overall operations of the optical department, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Licensed Optician (College of Opticians of Ontario).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Passion for eyewear, fashion, and patient care.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent technical skills.
  • Proven experience in an optical setting or relevant retail sales experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to eye care is essential.
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Wink is advantageous.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
