Carpenter

Area of Assignment: Hospital & Premises

Basic Function and Scope:

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the incumbent is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures, fixtures, and buildings.

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday-days (with flexibility to meet the needs of the hospital)

Status: Full-Time (new vacancy)

Pay Rate: $29.95-$30.70

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma;
  • Ontario Certificate of Qualification for General Carpentry.

Experience:

  • Experience with construction and/or renovation projects.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully;
  • Analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, legislation, regulations, policies and procedures installation and maintenance;
  • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized spreadsheet, database and word processing, programs at a proficient level;
  • Ability to organize work assignments, meet deadlines and work independently;
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other trades;
  • Must have annual review education completed;
  • Must have previous proven good performance and attendance record.

  • The applicant must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
