Website NORTHUMBERLAND FINE FOOD

We’re looking for people who understand that hospitality is about creating an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and cared for. Our Tasting Lounge hosts film screenings, live music performances, and trivia nights — evenings that bring people together around culture and conversation. The staff who work these events play a quiet but essential role in making each evening feel special. We need people who are naturally attentive, who notice when a guest needs something before being asked, who read the room and respond with care, and who take genuine pride in contributing to a seamless experience. This role requires real engagement and the ability to work as part of a self-sufficient team.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Setting up the Tasting Lounge before each event with care and attention to detail
  • Serving food and drinks throughout the evening with warmth, efficiency, and anticipation of guest needs
  • Reading the room and responding appropriately — knowing when to engage, when to give space, and how to move through the event without disrupting the experience
  • Working seamlessly with your team to ensure smooth service, supporting each other without needing to be directed
  • Maintaining our service standards because you understand they exist to create consistency and quality
Breaking down and cleaning the space thoroughly after each event

What We’re Looking For:

  • Someone who genuinely enjoys hospitality and takes pride in making people feel looked after
  • Natural attentiveness and presence — noticing details, anticipating needs, and responding with care
  • The ability to stay calm and composed during busy moments while maintaining quality service
  • Comfort working independently within a team structure where everyone is trusted to handle their responsibilities
  • Discretion and good judgment in reading situations and responding professionally
    Smart Serve certification (required)

Most shifts are Friday and Saturday evenings. You are not required to work every weekend — we understand people have other commitments — but we do need staff who are regularly available and reliable when they commit to a shift. Wage is $19/hr to start. If you’re interested in joining our events team, please send your resume to [email protected]
