Overview
Amer Sports is a global sporting goods company known for its diverse portfolio of premium sports and outdoor brands, including Arc’teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Atomic, Armada, and Peak Performance. We are currently looking for dynamic and engaging Team Lead at our new, state of the art, distribution centre. This position is for our afternoon shift: Monday to Thursday from 3pm to 1:30am.

Purpose

As the Distribution Centre Team Leader, your main duty is to work closely with the Supervisor to ensure that deadlines and safety standards are met, and that the Distribution Centre (DC) associates are organized, properly trained, and focused on appropriate tasks.

Duties

  • Lead by example and partner with the DC team members through all assigned tasks and create a unified team culture
  • Lead, train, coach and discipline members as needed
  • Execute daily schedules and priorities
  • Support the Outbound, Inbound, Returns, VAS and Inventory Control team for all functions and ensure accuracy and speed
  • Provide training to new and existing DC team members as required
  • Facilitate effective and productive communications within the team as well as outside the team and work closely with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
  • Adhere to Company regulations and procedures in order to uphold the Company’s quality and health and safety standards
  • Supervise hourly employees in collaboration with the Supervisor to ensure daily activities re executed
  • Serve as a leadership and point of contact for staff when Supervisory staff are not present
  • Review and ensure schedules are established to meet SLA for both racking and automation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Skills & Experience

  • Post secondary education in Warehousing, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration an asset.
  • 3+ years working in Logistics/Distribution environment
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools a plus.
  • Financial acumen with experience creating and managing budgets.
  • Strong, clear communication skills with strong English verbal and written communication
  • Previous leadership experience and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
  • Experience using SAP, MRP/WMS systems in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Take initiative and bring up ideas proactively, while identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of Distribution KPIs and statistics to ensure deliverables are met
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work professionally both independently, and in a team.
