Capital Movers and Storage is looking for motivated individuals to join our team for the summer season. Please note: This is a seasonal position for the summer period (May – September) – start dates are contingent upon business volumes and regular hours may not be available until mid-June. Hours are variable throughout the summer based on order volumes. Some days will be quite long, some days there may not be work. Most work takes place Monday-Friday. Weekend work may occasionally arise.
Overview of Job Scope: Assist drivers and work with a team of movers and packers to load/unload, pack/unpack household or office goods during all phases of the move.

Key Duties:

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of household goods shipments at residences and the warehouse
  • Competently performs assigned pack/unpack and load/unload duties with supervision
  • Assist with the loading/unloading of appliances and fine furniture for commercial deliveries
  • Assist with the packing/unpacking of breakable items
  • Is compliant with Walker’s/Capital Group Policies & Procedures and Van Line policies.
  • Observe all health & safety protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Assist with truck/trailer upkeep including folding of moving blankets, breaking down of packing material, washing vehicle and equipment as required

Qualifications:

  • Household goods moving/storage/packing experience an asset
  • Physical fitness—able to work long hours at physically demanding tasks
  • Bilingualism an asset
