Eyewear Haus

Eyewear Haus is growing, and we’re looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Optical Lab Technician to join our team in our Napanee location.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in precision and quality, and is interested in learning the technical side of the optical industry.

As part of the Eyewear Haus team, you’ll work behind the scenes to help turn a patient’s frame and prescription into a finished pair of glasses they love. You’ll assist with lens preparation, edging, mounting, quality control, adjustments and eyewear repairs while working closely with our opticians and optical team.

Previous optical or lab experience is an asset, but not required for the right candidate. Training will be provided.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist with the preparation and production of prescription eyewear
  • Learn to operate optical lab equipment used to edge and finish lenses
  • Inspect lenses and frames to ensure orders meet our quality standards
  • Mount lenses into a variety of frame styles and materials
  • Verify prescriptions, lens specifications and order details for accuracy
  • Perform frame adjustments, minor repairs and general eyewear maintenance
  • Troubleshoot issues with frames, lenses and completed eyewear
  • Assist with lens and frame ordering as required
  • Maintain accurate records and track eyewear orders throughout the production process
  • Keep lab equipment, tools and work areas clean, organized and properly maintained
  • Work closely with our opticians and front-of-house team to ensure orders are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with receiving and organizing lenses, frames and lab supplies
  • Develop your knowledge of lenses, coatings, frame materials and optical technology through hands-on training
  • Assist with frame styling and reception assistance if needed.

Who We’re Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have exceptional attention to detail
  • Enjoy hands-on, technical work
  • Are patient, precise and take pride in getting things right
  • Are organized and able to manage multiple orders and priorities
  • Have strong problem-solving skills
  • Are comfortable learning and operating equipment and technology
  • Work well independently while also being a strong team player
  • Are dependable and take ownership of your work
  • Are eager to learn a specialized skill and grow within the optical industry

More Than Just a Lab Position

At Eyewear Haus, our lab is an important part of the patient experience.

A beautiful frame is only as good as the finished pair of glasses, which means accuracy, craftsmanship and attention to detail matter.

You’ll receive hands-on training from our experienced optical team and develop practical skills in lens finishing, frame adjustments, repairs, measurements, troubleshooting and optical technology.

For someone who enjoys technical work and wants to develop a specialized skill set, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career in the optical industry.

What We Offer

  • Competitive hourly compensation based on experience
  • Hands-on training and mentorship
  • Ongoing optical and technical education
  • Opportunities for professional growth and advancement
  • Employee eyewear discounts
  • A supportive, collaborative team environment
  • The opportunity to work with modern optical equipment and technology
  • A clean, modern and fashion-forward workplace
  • The opportunity to be part of a growing, locally owned independent business
