The Outbound Scheduler plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and timely coordination of all outbound distribution center (DC) operations. In this position, you will establish shipment priorities through close collaboration with internal teams, ensuring operational activities align with customer delivery expectations. The Outbound Scheduler is responsible for optimizing workflow, maintaining clear communication across departments, and driving performance to consistently achieve key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily:
Create, manage, and optimize daily/weekly outbound delivery schedules.
Plan and group outbound deliveries using SAP, based on order priority, delivery deadlines, and customer requirements, ensuring optimal inventory utilization by verifying stock locations and prioritizing rack-picked freight orders over automated systems when appropriate.

  • Ensure on time, shipment of customer orders and intercompany transfers.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to accommodate changes in order volume, priorities, or carrier availability.
  • Prioritize orders in accordance with business needs and shipping cut‑off times.
  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to align staging, picking, and loading activities with delivery plans.
  • Coordinate with the transportation team to arrange pickups and ensure timely departures.
  • Communicate shipment plans, load requirements, and timelines to internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Shift Supervisors and Team Leads to maintain workflow balance and operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and verify shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
  • Resolve delivery issues, delays, and exceptions promptly, escalating when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, and safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance outbound flow, scheduling efficiency, and shipping accuracy.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis for late shipments, service issues, or planning errors and support corrective actions.
  • Provide management with updates on priorities, operational constraints, and performance against established KPIs.
  • Other Duties as required

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of scheduling, planning, or logistics coordination experience within a distribution, warehousing, and/or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience coordinating outbound shipments, transportation schedules, and inventory-related workflows is considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding of distribution center operations, shipping processes, and transportation coordination.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to overall team objectives and operational success.
