GFL Environmental

The Equipment/ Agricultural Operator is required to operate multiple machines to keep the day-to-day functions of the biosolids land application program going. Responsibilities include running agriculture equipment, pumps and industrial equipment as well as maintaining accurate records regarding volumes received through out the day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate motorized vehicles to move equipment between client sites
  • Operate pumping equipment required for land application of biosolids
  • Operate farm tractors and implements for land application of biosolids
  • Accurately complete numerous and various documents
  • Knowledge of farming practices and the Nutrient Management Regulation an asset
  • Willing to obtain required licensing
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:

  • Requires a valid G license.
  • Prior experience operating heavy machinery, including farm and pumping equipment in an agricultural environment is a definite asset. We are, however, willing to train potential candidates who demonstrate a willingness to learn,
  • Must have ability to perform labour intensive duties including heavy lifting,
  • Doesn’t mind working in the elements (weather dependent)
  • Proven impeccable attendance record,
  • Must have solid written and verbal communication skills in order to complete required paperwork and maintain contact with other personnel
  • AZ license is an asset,
  • All other duties assigned
