Research Casting International (RCI) is one of the world’s largest providers of Museum Technical Services, which include specimen restoration, casting, mounting, exhibit fabrication and transportation. We are capable of creating museum exhibit projects and commissions of any size and complexity. Our Concrete Theming department consists of experienced artists and craftsmen dedicated to the highest quality rock-work replicas, innovation, and design. As international leaders in our field, we travel the globe, managing logistics and navigating permits, visas, and approvals for dinosaurs, equipment, and exhibition materials on the move.

Position Overview:

The position of Concrete Rockwork Technician involves molding, casting, sculpting, finishing, and installing fiber-reinforced concrete for playgrounds, public institutions, museums, zoos, aquariums, and theme parks.  Rockwork Technicians replicate paleontological digs, rock formations, and habitats, with skilled custom cement work.  This role combines concrete work, craftsmanship, and creativity. Additionally, our technical services often include on-site exhibit installation, breakdown, and packing.  RCI Team members are often required to travel internationally to assist with these services.  A successful candidate would be willing to obtain necessary work permits and must have the following:

Valid Passport
Clean criminal record check
Clean vulnerable sectors check
Clean criminal record and judicial matters check

Key Responsibilities:

Basic welding and metal fabrication
Fabrication of steel frames and custom metalwork
Casting fiber-reinforced concrete into molds
Installing and seaming precast rock panels on location
Texturing and acid etching
Sculpting, staining, painting, finishing
Problem solving
Maintaining a safe and clean work area

Qualifications:

Basic welding a metal fabrication
Comfortable working with power tools, lifting heavy objects (up to 50lbs), and other physical tasks
Team-oriented with the ability work independently
Strong problem-solving abilities
Holds a valid passport (or willing to obtain one) with the willingness to travel internationally on short notice
Ability to work overtime
Comfortable working at heights
Ability to self-motivate with a commitment to continued learning
Ethics and Integrity
Ability to manage time sensitive projects
Ability to work both inside and outdoors
Must have reliable transportation

Assets:

Some concrete experience
Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Experience with concrete equipment such as a sprayer, mixer, fiberglass, and associated chemicals or materials
Creativity and artistic inclination
Interest in growing skill set and trying new things
Experience with varied shop equipment and tools
Planning and organizing
Experience with technical drawings and drafts
Additional Certificates and Training:  Forklift Operator’s certificate/Working at Heights Certificate/Mobile Elevated Work Platform Certificate/First Aid
Work Conditions:

Hours of Operation: 7AM to 3PM Monday-Friday
